For a Better Southbury
Like many who moved to
Southbury, I was attracted by the quality of life offered by our
community. Southbury has the ambiance of a small town, offers
many recreational opportunities, has excellent schools, and a
level of community involvement I hadn’t seen elsewhere.” It is
clear, however, that these attributes are a double-edged sword
since they generate strong forces for growth and change.
In order to preserve and
enhance the excellent quality of life that Southbury has to
offer we need, as a community, to think and work more broadly
and plan for the long-term. Above all we need a clear vision of
Southbury’s future and then commit to taking the necessary steps
to move us in that direction. That’s easy to say but tough to
accomplish. It requires leadership, organizational skills and a
willingness to reach out across our community and engage all
citizens. I am committed to doing just that. |
