For a Better Southbury
While each
board and commission in Town is empowered to deal with separate
and distinct subjects – Southbury needs a First Selectman who
will coordinate with them and provide the leadership, long range
planning and direction that best serves the Town as a whole.
As First
Selectman, I will also undertake an aggressive outreach program
to recruit and retain volunteers in town – from fire and
ambulance – to other volunteer supported services. This way, we
get more people involved in our town while keeping our costs
down.
Wouldn’t
it help us all if we could go to Southbury’s website and
actually access information? Download forms, regulations,
applications? Register online for programs? Read minutes of
meetings? Look up real estate data? Forget about the efficiency
of being able to do this from the comfort of your own office or
home – just think of all extra traffic we’d eliminate on Main
Street!
I am
running for First Selectman to improve the way we work for you!
I want to provide the kind of leadership that facilitates,
unites the whole town, builds consensus and moves us forward to
face our challenges together.
And I ask
for your vote on Tuesday, November 6th, because it
would be my privilege to go to work for you.
